This is a GE Profile 42-inch custom hood insert, the ventilation power unit that mounts inside a cabinet or custom hood shell so only the stainless liner and controls show. The body measures about 39-11/16 inches wide, 21-7/8 inches deep and 12-1/2 inches high, and it is secured through the sides into two 2x4 studs set 39 inches apart, so the surrounding cabinet has to be built or already sized for it. It runs on a standard 120V circuit at a 6-amp rating and vents through a round duct out the top, or can be run in recirculating mode using the charcoal filter. Rated to 1200 CFM with dual blowers and four fan speeds, it has four dishwasher-safe stainless baffle filters, four LED cooktop lights with a night-light setting, backlit pushbutton controls, a delay shut-off, a remote, and built-in WiFi that can also sync with a compatible GE range over Bluetooth. It suits someone doing a custom kitchen with a wood or plaster hood surround over a 36- or 42-inch cooktop who needs high-volume ducted ventilation rather than an off-the-shelf visible hood.
