GE Universal 30" Telescopic Downdraft System

What we found

This is a GE 30-inch telescopic downdraft ventilation system, model UVD6301SPSS, in stainless steel. It mounts in the countertop behind a cooktop or drop-in range and stays flush until you raise the vent panel, which retracts back down when you are done cooking. The blower moves up to 500 CFM and is controlled by a rotary knob that lets you set any speed from 0 to 500 CFM; the mesh grease filters lift out and can go in the dishwasher. It runs on a standard 120V, 60Hz circuit drawing about 4 amps, and it is meant to be ducted to the outside through 3-1/4" x 10" rectangular duct. It suits an island or peninsula cooktop, or any kitchen where there is no wall or ceiling to hang a hood from, and it needs cabinet space below the counter for the body and ductwork.
